The Lovejoy family wish to thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness!
The Lovejoy home, located at 17 Park Street, had been in the family since the 1920′s. This beautiful 4-story Victorian house with the beautiful wrap-around porch was filled with countless memories from Sandy, Jimmy, Beth, Karen, Susan, Jessie, Jimmy, Julia, Christopher, and Mia. It wasn’t just Sandy’s house – it was a home where her children came for security, where her grandchildren came for comfort, where family and friends gathered and loved was shared. The Lovejoy house was truly majestic and it will be missed.
On the night of the July 6th fire, it was another typical sleepover at grammies house. Sandy and Mia were sleeping on the second floor and Christopher and Julia were sleeping in the living room. Meanwhile, Jessie and Sue were getting ready to head up to bed on the third floor around midnight when they noticed the front porch was on fire. The fire spread very quickly and didn’t spare anything in its path. Amazingly enough, all 6 escaped without harm due to the quick thinking of Susan and Jessie. Jessie rescued her grandmother and 10 month old cousin from the second floor and her bravery that evening was truly heroic.
The house and its contents were a total loss, but the family has each other, which is all they could have asked for. Sandy, Beth, Karen and Susan as well as the rest of their family cannot thank you enough for your abundance of love and support as they start to rebuild their lives in Hopedale.
